WINDOWSHELF has been designed for the majority of UK windows. All you need is a window recess depth of at least 16cms. Please visit our Compatibility Guide for more information.

WINDOWSHELF fits fully inside a standard UK window recess. It will not obstruct curtains or window blinds that have been fitted outside the recess (to the ceiling or wall).

WINDOWSHELF shelves and safety rails are made from hardwearing extruded aluminium. These components are supplied in their raw state.

Over time, unpainted aluminium develops a tough, clear, corrosion resistant oxide coating. If you prefer a more colourful installation or want to coordinate with other décor, then you can paint the aluminium components using suitable paints. Powder coating or machine polishing offer further possibilities.

Each WINDOWSHELFORIGINAL shelf supports a load of up to 50kg spread evenly across the shelf.

Each WINDOWSHELF SLIMLINE shelf supports a load of up to 10kg spread evenly across the shelf.

WINDOWSHELF products have been designed to be quick and easy to install. If you can use an electric drill, a screwdriver, and a tape measure, each WINDOWSHELF ORIGINAL shelf can be installed in just a few minutes. 

WINDOWSHELFSLIMLINE is an even easier shelf to install – pre fitted with 'Very High Bond' (VHB™) double sided tape from 3M™ for a perfect no drill, no damage installation. Please visit our Guides for more information.

The aluminium components are easy to cut to size on-site. They can be cut by hand with a hacksaw or you can use an appropriate power saw.

WINDOWSHELF ORIGINAL brackets are constructed from strong, hardwearing plywood. Each original bracket measures approximately 190mm x 65mm x 28mm.

WINDOWSHELFSLIMLINE brackets are constructed from strong, hardwearing MDF (medium density fibreboard). Each slimline bracket measures approximately 190mm x 55mm x 28mm.

WINDOWSHELFORIGINAL brackets are stained a medium oak colour and finished with a hardwearing satin varnish. WINDOWSHELF SLIMLINE brackets are primed and spray painted in silver.

Yes, both versions of WINDOWSHELF bracket can be repainted. Easily compliment your décor using a wide range of readily available paints and finishes from emulsion to high gloss.

Yes, WINDOWSHELFbackets can be supplied unfinished at no extra cost. Occasionally, this may delay shipment of your order. Please contact us for more.

If required, for cleaning and/or redecoration, the aluminium shelf and safety rail can be quickly released from the brackets and then removed from the window recess. In normal usage, there is ample space to clean behind and around the shelf without removing it.

WINDOWSHELF has been designed to be safe in use. In the event of an emergency that requires you to exit via your window, the aluminium components can be removed in a matter of moments.

We aim to ship all orders no later than the next working day with delivery one to two days later.

Your WINDOWSHELF order will be shipped in two parts. To reduce handling and facilitate our custom cutting service, all aluminium components are sent direct to you from our supplier. This means that your brackets and metal-work may arrive on different days.

We observe the terms of the consumer protection (distance selling) regulations 2000. You are entitled to cancel the contract within seven working days after receiving the goods. You must inform us inwriting that you want to return your product. You will be responsible for returning the goods to us (together with the original packaging) at your own expense. However, for the avoidance of doubt, cancellation rights are not applicable to any products that have been custom cut to fit. Please refer to our T&Cs for more.
